You simply put nearly even amounts of cards on each side of the shuffler, press and hold the operate button until all the cards are shuffled, then collect the cards from the tray at the bottom.
This model can shuffle up to six (6) decks of standard or bridge size cards and requires four (4) "C" batteries. Cards and batteries are not included.
