Personalized Card Guards

February 26th, 2009

If you have watched any of the poker events on television you have most likely seen a card guard. The card guard is used to protect a players hand from being accidentally turned over or folded, a very useful accessory.

There are many styles of  Card Guards  available for purchase, such as spinners, faces and coin designs. Some styles of card guards can even be personalized.

The options for personalized card guards are virtually limitless. If you own a business they are a great advertising method, much better than business cards that are generally misplaced. They are also a fine idea if you are hosting a special event or poker tournament. You can give them away as a commemorative token or use them as tournament prizes. Check into it today!

New Felt Layout Design-

October 30th, 2008

Do you like to play Texas Hold’em but you can’t afford a fancy table or don’t really have room for an extra table in your home? Well I have the perfect solution for you, a felt layout. There are many different layouts available, but I have a specific one in mind. This is a new style and I believe you will be impressed with the features of this product.

The Poker Texas Hold’em Table Layout  is 70 inches long and 35 inches wide. I think the most unique feature of this layout is it’s not just your regular everyday layout, but it has a Sure Stick Rubber Base. With this rubber base there is no need to tape or staple the layout to your table, because no matter what it won’t slip while you are in play. The color is blue instead of the traditional green and it also comes with a travel case. You really should try one out for your next weekend game.

An Alternative to Paulson Poker Chips-

October 21st, 2008

Da Vinci chips are one of the best casino style chips that can be purchased for home use. What is really great is they are less then half the cost of the Paulson chips. When compared to the Paulson chips side by side it is hard to distinguish any difference between the two.

These top of the line clay poker chips are 10 grams with no metal insert; which gives them the look and feel of casino poker chips. They have a tri color design and are available in seven different denominations: $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $5000 and $1000. Besides having the denomination on them they also sport the “Casino Da Vinci” seal, which gives them a professional look.

Let It Ride

October 14th, 2008

Let It Ride is a fairly new game that has become very popular in the casinos. Players like the game because of the possibilities of high pay outs and it is easy to learn. Unlike other casino card games you are not playing against each other or the dealer, which makes it a unique game.

Each player has three circles in front of his playing area, where he places three equal bets in each circle. He is then dealt three cards, when each player has received his cards the remainder of the deck is dealt into a discard tray. After this the players are allowed to look at their hand. The player has the option of taking back his bet in the first circle or to “Let It Ride”. Once all players have decided the dealer will turn up one of the cards from the discard pile. Then the players decide if they want to take back the bet on circle two or ride it out. The dealer then turns over a second card which completes the player’s five-card hand. The dealer then pays all the winning bets according to the “Let It Ride” pay table. Sound like fun doesn’t it!

Daniel Negreanu in a Movie Role

October 6th, 2008

Just stumbled across a succinct little write up in the May 2008 issue of Bluff magazine that talks about Daniel Negreanu and a movie roll.  Apparently he had been rambling on for several weeks on his blog about a secret project he had been working on.

It turns out that he was cast in a new X-men movie that will be coming out in the summer of 2009.  The new movie is called X-Men Origins: Wolverine.  It seems Daniel will be playing poker with Wolverine, who is played by Hugh Jackman.  The new movie will also star Liev Schrieber, Ryan Reynolds, and Dominic Monaghan.

2008 WSOP Another Success

September 27th, 2008

The 2008 World Series of Poker had taken on a slightly new format this year, as I am sure many of you already know.  In case some of you do not, here is the new twist.  The final table for the main event has been purposefully postponed until November 9th.  This new method is probably intended to allow the poker world and the world in general to get a chance to know the nine players at the final table.  This will no doubt also help the players and their sponsors.  If the players don’t already have a sponsor this should certainly give them many opportunities to acquire one or more sponsors.

If the WSOP organizers were worried about the number of poker players that would be in attendance for the main event this year, it would seem justified.  With four separate start days, the main event was a major effort in coordination.  Day 1A of the main event had 1,297 entrants.  Then Day 1B saw a slightly smaller field with 1,158 players taking the plunge.  The smaller turnout on Day 1B may have been due to it being on the 4th of July.  Next, Day 1C saw a nice increase in the number of players with the final tally being 1,928 for this day.  Finally, with 2,461 players registering on Day 1D the total number of players for the main event reached 6,844 and surpassed last years numbers.  This main event became the second largest in history, only pailing in comparison to the record number of 8,773 players seen in 2006.

Labor Day

August 12th, 2008

This year Labor Day is Monday September 1st. What do you have planned for fun? Most folks look forward to this holiday due to a three day weekend and it’s one of the last chances for a camping trip before the weather changes. Wherever you live in the USA I’m sure that you can find a beautiful place to camp for the long weekend. There are so many family activities to do when you go camping like: fishing, boating, hiking, biking and the list goes on and on. One activity that can be fun for the whole family is poker or blackjack! This is a good way for young ones to learn deductive reasoning and is also great for math skills. What is really nice about poker/blackjack is the convenience and affordability. You can get a complete set with everything you need at a reasonable price and it won’t even take up much space to pack. So, start now to plan your family fun filled weekend.
