PPA Made A Little Progress Against the UIGEA

July 31st, 2010

According to MakePokerLegal.com the PPA’s (Poker Players Alliance) efforts, led by Barney Frank, to overturn the UIGEA finally have some positive news as of July 28, 2010.  On this historical day lawmakers at the Federal level voted on the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act and passed it with a vote of 41-22-1.

While this is a small step in the right direction, it does not mean legalized online poker is just around the corner.  Evidently this just the beginning of a long process.  Plus experts actually wonder if the taxation and regualtion of Internet Poker could be a larger blow than the UIGEA in the end.  We will just have to wait and see.

The New 4 Aces Poker Chips

November 17th, 2009

Over the past 4 years of being involved in the poker supply business I have observed poker chip manufacturers change different chip designs ever so slightly. Most often the changes are for the better and often undetected. Occasionally these changes are more noticeable and hard to adjust to because consumers are accustomed to the previous style.

One chip which has gone through 3 transformations in the last 4 years is the 4 Aces poker chip. The 1st version included a label design that was made into the chip and the edge spots were the chip color, with off white sections. With the next version of this poker chip style the off white sections were made much whiter, which made quite a substantial difference. The newest version may be the best of the two combined. While the label is not made as part of the chip, the graphics are much cleaner and crisper with great detail. Also once the high quality PVC waterproof label is applied to the inlay area of the poker chips; it is very adhesive and very durable. This poker chip line has received a bright makeover. This newest style is sure to be the most popular to date.

Blackjack

October 30th, 2009

The most popular casino game, Blackjack, is also the most recognized and most widely understood game out of all of the casino games. This may be due to its simplistic nature or the fact that it gives the individual the best statistical edge against the house. Regardless of why, no one will argue that it is the most popular casino game. Many people also enjoy playing this game at home. Whether for fun around the kitchen table, at a regular hosted home game, at a charity event, or at a special casino night party, blackjack keeps people entertained and excited. These home games require some basic blackjack supplies, that can easily be found at an online retailer.
